The Dana 44 Bombshell is a classic Diff Cover that can be used both on the front and rear axles with no requirement of aftermarket trackbar modifications. You can simply install the Bombshell Dana 44 Diff Cover onto your stock Jeep, straight from the showroom. This re-design incorporates moving the gear oil fill hole to the stock fluid level so that there is no more guesswork, research, or measuring. All you need is to simply fill the difference to the level of the fill hole.
The Dana 44 Bombshell differential cover is cast from highly ductile nodular iron, the same material that is used to cast drag racing differential housings in order to enable them handle thousands of horsepower. The design of the Bombshell incorporates recesses to protect the diff cover bolt heads from trail damage while its profile acts as a ramp to help your Jeep easily slide up and over extreme terrains.
The ramp profile also results in an extremely thick 1" cross-section around the bolt ring where contact with rocks is most likely. Throughout the rest of its cross-section, this Bombshell is the thickest and strongest cast differential cover in the market with its thickness ranging from 7/16" to a massive 1/2" at the outermost surface.
Installation for the Bombshell is easy and fast. You can view the video left of our installation instructions to see the process. The sealing surface area is CNC-machined for a perfect seal. Poison Spyder provides you with a tube of silicon sealant and new Grade 8 hardware, so all you need is tools and gear oil. Also, the bombshells arrive to you powder coated semi-gloss black.
